Two Studies, Two Evaluation Frameworks
BARC draws on the experiences of customers who work with the service providers under review. Lünendonk analyzes market position, revenue, and portfolio breadth. The results are therefore not directly comparable. Together, the customer perspective and the market perspective provide complementary insights into HMS.
BARC
How Customers Rate Their Collaboration with HMS
The Data & Analytics Service Provider Survey 25 evaluates customer feedback on data and analytics service providers. The survey was conducted from August to October 2024 with 747 respondents. Twelve service providers received sufficient responses for detailed comparison across 23 KPIs. The HMS profile is based on feedback from 26 customers.
What the Customer Feedback Shows
- 100 percent of respondents would definitely or probably recommend HMS.
- 100 percent rate goal achievement or project benefits as excellent or good.
- 96 percent rate the technology-specific expertise as excellent or good.
- 100 percent rate professionalism as excellent or good.
- 92 percent rate the value for money as excellent or good.
The percentages refer to participating HMS customers, not the entire customer base. According to BARC, a KPI is only included in the analysis if there are at least seven to 20 responses, depending on the metric. The results provide external evidence of how participating customers evaluate their work with HMS, while remaining subject to the survey methodology and sample size.
Lünendonk
How HMS Is Positioned in the Data & AI Market
The Lünendonk® Study 2025/2026 examines the German market for Data & AI Services. It draws on a survey of 24 Data & AI service providers and 170 user companies from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The study distinguishes between broadly diversified consulting and IT service providers and companies whose business is specifically focused on data and AI services.
What is the Lünendonk Study?
The Lünendonk Study is an independent market analysis conducted by the market research and consulting firm Lünendonk. It regularly examines leading providers, market trends, and developments in various service markets and is regarded as an established industry barometer in German-speaking countries.
HMS qualifies for the specialist ranking because Data & AI Services account for at least 70 percent of its revenue and the company generates significant revenue across strategy, engineering, and operations. The DACH market sample also reflects HMS’s Data & AI business activities beyond Germany.
The rankings are based primarily on revenue, market, and portfolio criteria. Lünendonk expressly points out that the specialist ranking does not indicate which service provider is better or less suitable for a specific project.
For companies evaluating a partner for complex Data & AI projects, the two studies provide complementary external perspectives:
Lünendonk positions HMS among the Data & AI specialists in Germany, while BARC shows how participating customers evaluate their project experience with HMS. The results point to strong customer ratings in technology implementation, system integration, professionalism, project management, and recommendation.
